The Eastern Suburbs of Sydney are located between Sydney City and the city’s eastern coastline.
The Eastern Suburbs enjoys extensive frontages on the Harbour, the Ocean beaches and extensive towering sandstone clifftops. The Architecture of Sydney is not characterised by any one architectural style, but a mix of old and new architecture over the city’s 200-year history. This applies to Sydney’s eastern suburbs as well. From federation, victorian and colonial style houses with double hung windows with tile or metal roofs, to art deco and more modern architecture, Sydney’s eastern suburbs has broad mix of architectural styles. This often depends on the era, proximity to the coastline, budget among other variables that influence the type of house, the flooring, roof, finishes etc pf these houses.
The eastern suburbs lines the southern side of the harbour from the city to North Head, with some of Sydney’s finest views, and most expensive houses. Potts Point and Elizabeth Bay almost form part of Central Sydney. Rushcutters Bay, Darling Point, Double Bay, Rose Bay, and Watsons Bay and North Head.
